 | Parament Museum
The motherhouse of the Franciscans holds many surprises. There is, for example the in-house craft workshop. As far back as 200 years ago, the Franciscan nuns already practised the art of parament embroidery, that is the ornamental embroidery of altar, lectern, and pulpit hangings, and of liturgical vestments. This craft with its long tradition is kept alive and cultivated in Gengenbach and the knowledge is passed on to the younger nuns.
The museum is open to visitors on every first Saturday of the month from 2 to 5 o’clock p.m.
